[2] Jinnah served as the leader of the All India Muslim League from 1913 until the formation of Pakistan on August 14, 1947, and then served as the first Governor General of Pakistan until his death. His birthday is celebrated as a national holiday in Pakistan.Born in Wazir Mansion, Karachi, Jinnah was trained as a barrister in Lincoln, London, England. On his return to British India, he entered the Bombay High Court, and became interested in national politics, which eventually replaced his legal practice. In the first two decades of the 20th century, Jinnah gained popularity in the Indian National Congress. In the early years of his political career, Jinnah supported the Hindu-Muslim Alliance, which helped draft the 1916 Lucknow Agreement between the Congress and the All India Muslim League, in which Jinnah was prominent. Jinnah became a key leader of the All India Home Rule League, and he proposed a fourteen-point constitutional reform plan to protect the political rights of Muslims in India.Subcontinent. However, in 1920, Jinnah resigned from the Congress after agreeing to pursue the Satyagraha campaign, which he described as political turmoil.

By 1940, Jinnah was convinced that the Muslims of the subcontinent should have an independent state of their own in order to survive the potential backwardness that they could find in an independent Hindu-Muslim state. In the same year, the Muslim League, led by Jinnah, passed the Lahore Resolution, calling for a separate nation for British Indian Muslims.
