General Qamar Javed Bajwa (born 11 November 1960) is a Pakistani military officer who has been the 10th and current Army Staff since 29 November 2016. In 2018, according to Forbes Magazine, he was listed as the 68th most influential person in the world, making him the most powerful person in Pakistan. Born in Karachi, General Bajwa was educated at FG. Before enrolling in Pakistan Military Academy in 1978, Sir Syed College and Gordon College in Rawalpindi.
General Bajwa was commissioned in 1980 in the 16th Battalion of the Baloch Regiment. Prior to his appointment as Chief of Army Staff, he served as Inspector General of Training and Evaluation from 22 September 2015 to 29 November 2016 and as Field Commander of the X Corps from 14 August 2013. September 22, 2015 which is responsible for the area along the Line of Control in Kashmir. In addition, he served as a brigadier in the United Nations Mission in the Congo and in 2007 as a brigade commander. General Bajwa was conferred with this post till November 2022.
