Moto announces a trio of new low-priced G phones

In addition to the stunningly expensive Moto G100, Motorola is officially dropping three more phones in the G series today. They all look the same based on the 6.5-inch chassis, but with remixed internals to create different price points. Over the next few weeks, the G10, G30, and G50 will enter various international markets.

Moto G50

The highlight of the disclosure is the G50, the only entry on the list with 5G radio, which is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 480 platform. The phone uses a 6.5-inch, 720p screen with a slightly increased 90Hz refresh rate, and a somewhat outdated curve. Below is a microSD card in addition to 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB storage, depending on which version you get. The rear camera is triple: 48MP "quad pixel" main shooter (read: 12MP, but with some fancy light sensor tech), 5MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. The 5000mAh battery should last a while on this chipset, and the rear fingerprint reader removes the specs.

  G30

G30 and G50 have almost the same body and screen, and are equipped with an older Snapdragon 662 chipset, which may be faster on some tasks, but lacks a 5G radio. The G30 uses the same screen (90 Hz refresh rate), RAM and battery, but thanks to Motorola's Turbo Power 20 (45 watts), it supports faster charging. It is only available in the microSD card slot in the 128GB storage version Plus. It also has four light-mixed cameras: a 64MP four-pixel main pixel, an 8MP ultraviolet, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

G10

The G10 is a low-cost mess, if you can use the term for a phone that is exactly the same size. It runs on a 4GB pair of Snapdragon 460 RAM. Its 720p screen loses its 90 Hz refresh capability, but otherwise remains the same. Battery Dotto: It's the same 5000mAh size, but doesn't charge quickly. 64 GB storage is required, but you can expand it with a microSD card. It has a G30-like camera setup, but drops the main shooter to 48MP.
